2024 Sean Runyan Athlete of the Year: Jayden Stafford

This year’s Sean Runyan athlete of the year is Jayden Stafford. Jayden is currently a senior at Mid-Prairie High School. He has played basketball since he was 8 years old and has also become a successful track athlete.  

Jayden won the 400-meter wheelchair race at the Drake Relays in 2023 and 2024. He was also named State Champion winning the 100, 200, 400, and 800 meter races at the State track meet this year.  

Jayden is great at encouraging his teammates and helping them improve their skills. He is welcoming to any new students who come into our programs and is great at volunteering with other Adaptive Sports Iowa events. He also enjoys being involved in his community and loves spending time with his family.  

Next year, Jayden plans to attend the University of Whitewater in Wisconsin and will play wheelchair basketball there. I can’t think of any student more deserving of this award. Congratulations to our 2024 athlete of the year, Jayden Stafford!
